If you have defeated the Gate 1 Vykas, well you’re going to need to prepare yourself even more than the last time. Vykas Gate 2 also has a couple of tricky strategies that you will follow and make sure that you will have open communication with your team for forming formations.

Vykas Gate 2 Mechanic Guide 2 – Lost Ark

First of all, when you start the Vykas Gate 2 fight, make sure to talk with your teammates and actually make a formation. This formation needs to be as follows:

  • 5 people in the middle.
  • 3 people in the outskirts of the circle in each corner of it.

This major mechanic that the boss will do will start at around 120% HP. He will teleport in the middle and spawn a Black demon into 3 different areas around the map. Each clone will have either 2 of its wings open or only 1 of its wings open. It can also be that no wings will be open at all. The players that will have their demon next to them, need to remember their wings for later on.

There will be also a full set of 5 orbs spawned in the middle in a cross-shaped pattern. So the 5 players that were in the middle of the zone earlier should each consume an orb. After doing so, the color will appear on top of their heads.

Quickly check the color on their heads and if the majority is purple you’ll go into a set pattern of 0 – 1 – 2. If it is a red pattern you’ll go into 2 – 1 – 0. So this is how you’ll be hunting those demons that spawned with their wings open. This is how you know where to strike first.

At around 65% HP bar the second big mechanic will happen. Before this happens, you will need to set up your team in this formation again. Make sure to follow this picture:

So 2 at the top, 2 at the middle, and then 2 on the left and the right side.

After this, you’ll see those demon clones burst out a wave of attacks. You will need to follow the color pattern of these attacks. They can be red or black. The more they have that one you’ll have to follow up ahead. Each clone will then shoot 5 orbs toward Vikas in the middle.

You must block the orbs according to the wave color from before. If it was from a black wave attack, block it. Usually, it’s the first, second, and fifth orb (can be different in your game though).

Communication is key in this part of the fight. You must communicate about the orbs that will be flying towards Vikas and which should be stopped by who. Different teams will need to block different orbs.

Vikas has an attack where each of the team members will be surrounded by a black circle and Vikas will go flying. There will be lines that are going clockward or counter clockward direction. You’ll need to follow it and make sure to space evenly and enough far away from the other players doing the same thing.

When he starts getting too low HP you will start noticing the ground underneath you changing. It will become red and filled with chess-like pieces. Some of them are going to be harder red than the others. These will have spikes on them so you’ll just have to time them right and dodge them on time. They can lead to an instant kill.

You can do a counterattack when Vikas will start throwing spinning dishes all across the area. This is when she will do the triple attack. Here you can knock her to the ground and actually do a big burst of damage to her.

If you see a purple ring appear next to a player’s head, make sure to let the player know that he will need to make the distance between him and the group. They will need to slowly take the ring outside of the area that might hurt the team.

Every once in a while Vikas will start spam shooting golden rings everywhere. They do stuns if they hit you and should be easy to avoid.

If you see a large purple cone indicator in the area that you’re facing, well then go to the edge of the map and time it out. It’s going to shoot out and not endanger any of your teammates.
