There are 2 new sets of Switch Skills that you can unlock in Sunbreak. With a total of 42 new Switch Skill sets, you can mix and match your strategy and playthrough however you see fit. Here’s a guide on how to unlock all the new Switch Skills in Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak.
How to Unlock ALL New Switch Skills Fast – Monster Hunter Sunbreak
To unlock the new Switch Skills in Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak is essentially the same as the base game, you have to progress further through the game.
In order for you to unlock the first set (14) of the Switch Skills, you simply need to reach Elgado. There, you can talk to Master Arlow who will ask you to learn from Master Utsushi. After you talk to Utshushi, he will then give you the first set of the new Switch Skills.
These Skills are:
- Surge Slash Combo – Great Sword
- Sacred Sheathe Combo – Long Sword
- Twin Blade Combo – Sword and Shield
- Side Slash Combo – Dual Blades
- Shield Tackle – Lance
- Erupting Cannon – Gunlance
- Spinning Bludgeon: Charge – Hammer
- Swing Combo – Hunting Horn
- 2-Staged Morph Slash Combo – Switch Axe
- Phial Power-up: Firing Pin – Charge Blade
- Kinsect Slash – Insect Glaive
- Critical Firepower – Light Bowgun
- Crouching Shot – Heavy Bowgun
- Stake Thrust – Bow
To unlock the second set, you need to reach Master Rank 4 and complete two key quests before facing Astalos. Then go to Kamura Village and talk to Utsushi to get the rest of the new Switch Skills (2 new skills for each weapon).

- Strongarm Stance & Backslide – Greatsword
- Tempered Spirit Blade & Harvest Moon – Longsword
- Destroyer Oil & Shield Bash – Sword and Shield
- Spiral Slash & Ironshine Silk – Dual Blades
- Skyward Thrust & Sheathing Retreat – Lance
- Bullet Barrage & Reverse Blast – Gunlance
- Dash Breaker & Impact Burst – Hammer
- Sonic Bloom & Silkbind Shockwave – Hunting Horn
- Wire Step & Elemental Burst Counter – Switch Axe
- Ready Stance & Air Dash – Charge Blade
- Awakened Kinsect Attack & Kinsect Glide – Insect Glaive
- Wyvern Counter & Mech Silkbind Shot – Light Bowgun
- Rising Moon & Setting Sun – Heavy Bowgun
- Butcher’s Bind & Bolt Boost – Bow
