Once you’re done trying out a character in Risk of Rain Returns, it’s normal to want to complete the challenges for that character and get some new abilities or items. The Enforcer has a few of these challenges including “Tank” and “Turtle”.

In this guide, we’ll show you how to beat the Turtle Challenge in the easiest way possible and tell you what you’ll get after you complete it.

How to Beat the Turtle Challenge

First off, we’ll explain what the Turtle Challenge is. Your goal with it is to stay in Shield Mode as Enforcer for 5 minutes. That’s it. It sounds a bit long and hard, but we can make it easier in a variety of ways.

For one, we can enable two artifacts: Artifact of Kin and Artifact of Command. Next, in the Rules tab we can turn down Damage Taken to 10% so that the shield doesn’t break easily.

With Artifact of Kin, you’ll need to reset your run a few times until you get an enemy that can’t hit you easily from behind. Wisps, Lemurians or Sandcrabs are pretty good choices.

Find a chest and pick a healing item. Then, go into a corner and just use Shield Mode for five minutes. Since you have an enemy type that can’t attack from behind, they won’t really be able to do anything other than try to hurt you from the front.

The item you’ll get from this challenge is an equipment item called “Prescriptions” which boosts damage by 30% and attack speed by 40% for 8 seconds. Pretty useful!
