In Planet Crafter, you’ll need to collect resources to survive. Besides food, you need to craft equipment, buildings, and other tools to help you in your journey. In this in-depth guide, we’ll tell you all you need to know before you dive into the game.

Everything You Need to Know in Planet Crafter

Game Interface

First off, you’ll need to familiarize yourself with three basic bars on the bottom-left corner of your screen:

  • Health – This is an indication of your food intake. For instance, Space Food will restore 50 health points when consumed.
  • Water – decreases relatively slowly compared to your health bar. It can be replenished by consumables.
  • Oxygen – is the one you need to pay the most attention to. Once you move out of your compartment, this gets consumed faster than the other three. Oxygen supply can be extended using Oxygen tanks.

On the top-right corner, you’ll see the Terraformation Index. It’s an indication of how the planet’s environment has changed. This will increase over time once you start building and crafting equipment.

To access your inventory and equipment, click the tab key on your keyboard. Also, to increase your inventory slots, you’ll need to craft a backpack.

For your first steps, you’ll need to craft the first tier of basic equipment, such as:

  • Backpack – increases inventory slots
  • Microchip for Construction & Deconstruction – for crafting and deconstructing equipment
  • Oxygen Tank – increases Oxygen capacity
  • Drill – releases gases trapped in the ground; adds pressure
  • Living Compartment & Door – serves as your mobile home or compartment when exploring away from your base
  • Wind Turbine – generates power

NOTE: At the start of the game, always bring extra consumables (oxygen capsules and water bottles) before heading outside. Also, if you’re running low on Oxygen, just go back inside of your compartment to fill it up.

Resources

You’ll find the most basic resources nearby your base. You’ll need this to craft basic equipment, such as your backpack, oxygen tank, microchip, and others.

On the other hand, to find rare resources, you’ll need to explore different parts of the planet; this includes wrecks, storage crates, caves, and even hidden paths once you progress further into the game. Once found, you are now able to craft advanced technology and higher tier of items.

Here is a list of the basic and rare resources you might encounter in game:

BASIC RESOURCES
Iron
Ice
Magnesium
Cobalt
Titanium
Silicon
RARE RESOURCES
Aluminum
Iridium
Uranium
Sulfur
Super Alloy
Tissue
Osmium
Bioplastic Nugget

Seeds and Vegetables

To increase the oxygen supply in your planet’s atmosphere, you can plant different kinds of seeds on Vegetubes.

Here is a list that you can use:

SEEDS
Lirma seed
Nulna seed
Pesterna seed
Shanga seed
Tuska seed
Gold seed
VEGETABLES
Mushrooms
Squash
Beans
Aubergine

Crafting and Deconstructing Items

Once you have collected the necessary resources, you can now use them to construct items. To access the construction menu, press the Q key. It will display different kinds of buildings, machines, information screens, and furniture.

To finish crafting the first set of machines, you need to collect some of the basic resources around your base. Then, select the machine, and left-click on your mouse.

To deconstruct, go on deconstruct mode and point on a piece of equipment you want to deconstruct. This will give back any resources that were needed to construct that item.

Information Screens and Other Basic Equipment

Information Screens

You can also create new machines inside of your compartment, like a crafting station, information screens, desktop, and a few more. Screens such as Energy Level will let you have an idea if you’re producing enough power to run most of your equipment.

NOTE: Once you create more items, you’ll need more wind turbines to generate enough power.

The Blueprint Screen will show all items that you’re able to unlock once you reach certain levels in your planet. These include factors such as Terraformation, Oxygen, Heat, and Pressure.

The Terraformation Screen also displays the basic terraformation statistics of your planet.

Linking Compartments

To house more equipment inside of your compartment, you’ll need to extend it by linking another one. You can do this by building another living compartment that’s right next to your original compartment. Make sure that a link icon is in between those two.

You can also build living compartments from inside; just select the living compartment on the building options and click on a side with the link icon. You can extend your compartment up to four rooms.

After that’s done, you can now house more equipment such as storage crates, vegetubes, and heaters.

Those are the basic ideas that you’ll need to remember before playing Planet Crafter. Once you progress into the game, you’re going to need rare resources to build more advanced equipment.

So, just hover over the list of resources and click the resource that you need. We prepared enough guides to help you farm.

Have fun playing!

Console games has been a part of my childhood, it started once an old console was given to me in the ‘00s. Since then, I’ve had a passion for writing compelling stories and improving my craft as a writer. Though it still makes me feel great to write for console games once in a while.
