V Rising 1.0: Best Incursion Build Guide

The Rift Incursion is the latest endgame event in V Rising that tests players’ build and skills to conquer it. We’ll talk about what it is, how to find it, prepare yourself for it, and actually win it. The open-world MMORPG allows players to master different skills and weapons as vampires to conquer the world. And without further ado, let’s conquer your first Rift Incursion.

Best Incursion Build Guide

We’ll start with explaining what Rift Incursions are and then what you need to prepare for it. Then we’ll talk about skills that you can get to make the fights easier and most efficient way to spend your resources.

Rift Incursion Explained

Rift Incursion is a new world event that can happen in two varying tiers. Players that beat the boss during these events will bring home Stygian Shards, Jewels, and Ancestral Weapons. These are great events to grind for the shards and jewels especially.

You need to build the Eye of Mortium in your base to find these events. They’ll be highlighted when ongoing and you can see how long they last, where they are, and what they drop.

Both tiers give similar rewards, but tier II gives you more shards and shattered weapons of higher levels. Tier II is where you want to grind for the best endgame gears. The Ancestral Weapons are the ultimate reward, but takes luck to grind.

During the event, you have to fight several waves of weaker mobs. Follow the black trails from the ritual site in the center of the zone. After clearing them up, you can claim some Stygian Shards and if lucky, Ancestral Weapons. Then finally, the big boss which can be any of the V Rising bosses.

The final boss of Rift Incursions is random, so the best build will depend on your luck. Greater Stygian Shards drop from tier II zones, so make sure to grind them when you can!

Preparing for the Event

For the preparation, we’ll talk about passive skills and weapons. We’ll share where you can get them and how to spend your resources such as shards and Shattered Weapons.

Altar of Stygian Awakening and Passive Skills

Passive skills should be your priority when it comes to spending your shards. If you don’t already have the Altar of Stygian Awakening, get the blueprint from General Elena the Hollow.

Passive skills from Altar of Stygian Awakening.

Because this is where you want to get passive skills, one from each tier. Tier 1 costs 400 Sytgian Shards, Tier 2 costs 600 Greater Stygian Shards, and Tier 3 costs 1000 Greater Stygian Shards.

Passive skills give permanent boost to your character. Pick one that fits the skillset of your character. For example, Chaos Volley users will benefit from Chaos Kindling, Turbulent Velocity, and Embrace Mayhem.

A slight freedom of choice for Tier 2 here because they’re less tied to your skillset and more on what you’re doing. You can opt for Tier 2’s Hunger for Blood which increases damage against V Bloods by 10%. The movement speed bonus from Skinwalker is good for exploring and Elemental Resistances is good for survivability.

Trade for Weapons at The Shard Merchant

Shard Merchants locations for spend shards in V Rising for your Incursion build.

Vampire Merchants are where you want to spend your Stygian Shards. One of them deal with normal Stygian Shards and the other deal with Greater Stygian Shards. The Greater Stygian Shards merchant is where you want to shop your endgame gears as you can also exchange for Ancestral Weapons here.

This is typically where you want to go if you don’t get the Ancestral Weapon you want from the rifts. Do note they restock their inventory every now and then. The merchant locations can also swap place.

Forging Shattered Weapons

Using the Ancestral Forge, you can upgrade your weapons at the cost of another weapon. But be careful, make sure that you’re upgrading the best weapon you want to wear. If there are two of the same types, compare their potentials.

Ancestral Forge to forge weapon.

Upgrade your Ancestral Weapons which are level 30 as they’ll be the best weapons in the game. Level 20’s best potential won’t reach the level these Ancestral Weapons reach.

You can get the Ancestral Forge blueprint by killing Octavian the Militia Captain. Please check the requirement by using the right flooring and structure to save resources!

To conclude this Rift Incursion guide:

  • Build Eye of Mortium, Altar of Stygian Awakening, and Ancestral Forge.
  • Grind for Tier II Rifts for more shards whenever possible.
  • Prioritize spending shards on Passive Skills. Spend them on merchants after if you still don’t have the weapon you want.
  • Forge and upgrade Level 30 Ancestral Weapons as they have much higher potentials.

And that’s it. The best Rift Incursion build in V Rising depends on how effecient you are in allocating your shards. Make sure to have everything prepared so you can save as much time in grinding the rifts and get the best gears! We have more build guides for V Rising, and here’s an Axe build for PVE.
