When Steam green light and early access were starting off, we saw a big boom in zombie games. Some of them were pretty good, while others bought down the problem of Open World, Zombie Survival games which were filled of not so great games.
Project Zomboid is one of those Open World, Crafting, Survival Games that actually turned out to be great! Surprisingly it can be one of the most blood-pumping survival games, and at times it’s one of the more relaxing ones.
In this guide, we’ll show you how to fix a broken window in the game, and we’re not just talking about boarding it up!
How To Fix A Broken Window In Project Zomboid
So imagine this, you’ve cleared most zombies in the immediate area. You’ve found a great home that you want to make it your permanent base. You’ve got all your stuff in there, ready to go and you’ve even placed them in neat piles or containers.
Suddenly a straggler zombie breaks into your window, you kill it but the damage is already done. Your pristine permanent home has a broken window, which ruins the aesthetics of the place, which we all know is the most important part of zombie survival.
So how do you fix this broken window?
The things you need are the following:
- Any Melee Weapon
- Crowbar
- At Least Carpentry Level 2
The first thing you need to do is clear the broken glass from the window.
You need to have ANY melee weapon equipped and held in your hand. You then need to right-click on the window and select “Remove Broken Glass.”
You can also remove it by hand if you have gloves, if you don’t you’ll cut yourself in the process so watch out!
You’ll then need to “Pick Up” the damaged window by using the command at the upper left. This will remove the window and leave you with a hole in the wall.
You’ll then need to go to another house with a pristine window. From there, use the pickup command again, hover over the window, and click it to pick it up.
Just remember that there’s a chance of it breaking depending on your carpentry level.
Once the window is in your inventory, you can then place the window in the hole on the wall. There you have it, a nice window!
Now don’t let the zombies break it again!
