Letting your friends know what to be aware of in games like Ark Survival Ascended is vital to having a good time. You wouldn’t want to just wander through a forest only to come out the other side in pieces. Luckily, you can do so much more with the new PING 2.0 system that the game has.

How To Use PING 2.0 System & Guide
You can use the new PING 2.0 system by clicking on your middle mouse button. This will bring up six options that will become available for viewing as soon as you choose them. After a few seconds they will disappear from the field of view of everybody else.
But there’s more to this system than meets the eye. You can use it for permanent waypoints on your map. For instance, let’s say you have a favorite tree or a crucial location you want to remember.
Just open your map, create a waypoint, customize its name, icon, and color, and it’s permanently marked on your map.
Simply choose “Accept” when you’re done. This is a game-changer for scouting, taming, or planning routes.
Modify your waypoint by choosing the color and by naming it while you’re editing. You can even choose a certain Icon that will pop up on the map if you want to be really specific with what you’re trying to show your friends.
Now if you don’t want twelve things floating in your face all at once, you also have the freedom to turn it off.
Go back to your map and click on the icon you don’t want or choose “Clear POIS” instead. This will get rid of everything you’re seeing once you get back to controlling your character.
It’ll stay on your map when you bring it up again though. There’s absolutely no need to worry about losing the waypoint for good if you ever misclick.
The same thing can be applied when you’re marking Supply Crates as well. Once the waypoint has been placed, you can just make a beeline for whatever it is you’re trying to get to.
Just remember to mark any dangers along the way while you’re at it! Or don’t, if you want to pull a funny on your friends if you have any.
