Navigating around the Vavilov Complex while gunning down howling mutants and narrowly escaping death by the skin of your teeth more than once may get too exciting at times, even for an esteemed member of the Soviet cabinet such as yourself. There are multiple ways to lessen the risk of you parting ways with the world of the living, you can pull the trigger more often, or learn how to slap modifications to the firearms you already own.
Sure you might have forgotten about this given that you’re always busy firing away at everything that moves, but we’ll be more than happy to show you how this can be done a second time!
How To Equip & Use Cartridge Module – Atomic Heart
Charles will let you in on how upgrades work as soon as you get thrown to the basement of the Vavilov Complex.
But then again, you only have so few resources down there that it might not be enough for what you might need so remember to go out of your way as much as possible and loot every container you see!
You’ll gain access to the Cartridge Modules through the Upgrade tab after your first interaction with NORA, something you’ll be more than happy to forget immediately.
This is of course, only possible if you already have the correct blueprint for it.
You can find an Electric Cartridge in the Algae Workshop breakroom chest and a Fire Cartridge later on when you resurface and make your way to the Seed Bank Breakroom.
Now go to the crafting section and choose Cartridge Guns, once you have the recipe for each module you can craft as many as you want.
Just make sure to provide the repair vendor with the necessary resources you find along the way. You’ll eventually have enough loot to prepare for any encounter as you will most likely be rummaging around containers whenever you’re not busy shooting.
Make sure you transfer the crafted cartridges to your inventory, you can see your cartridges by pressing the middle mouse, X, or Square to bring up your weapon wheel.
This will depend on what platform you’re using so edit the slot where your cartridge is by pressing the corresponding button or trigger.
And that’s how you use your cartridges! You now have the power of the sun in the palm of your hand! If you want to go back to using regular bullets just redo the sequence from the weapon wheel and uninstall what you currently have.
Now go and set a Lab Tech’s mustache on fire!
