Ready to pump some iron!?

In Escape From Tarkov it’s not all just getting cool guns and showing it off to your friends only to lose it in a raid 3 seconds later. There are a lot of different things interwoven into the raids like finding stuff for tasks or finding items for your hideout. The Hideout can be a great way to both find set a goal for yourself in a raid and to help you in the long run once you’ve set up the hideout. Still you’ll need some items for it and in this guide we’ll show you what you need to open the defective wall and unlock the Gym!

Open Defective Wall & Unlock Gym In Escape from Tarkov

You might have noticed that there’s a defective wall in your Hideout. This wall can actually be broken so that you unlock the gym in the game, but what do you need to open the wall? No not explosives, that’s going to wreck everything else. You actually need to find a sledgehammer to dismantle the wall.

To find a Sledgehammer you’ll need to keep an eye out for these Technical Supply Crates, which you can see from the image above. These crates have a chance of spawning a Sledgehammer, the thing you need to bust that wall open!

These crates can be found in Customs, Reserves and the new Streets of Tarkov map. So all you need to do is go to those places, find that crate and pray to the RNG gods that they give you a big hammer!

Congratulations you now know where to find this item in Escape from Tarkov, now go out there and try to do it yourself! Many thanks to Joe Iz Gaming for showing everyone how to do this, if you need more information on the task then go check their video out here: Where to Find Sledgehammer to Break Defective Wall & How to Build Hideout Gym in Escape From Tarkov – YouTube
