Raids are already hard to do, but people love the challenge so much that they do the raid again, but on a higher difficulty. Savage in FFXIV terms is the highest difficulty of a raid. It is where you go and challenge yourself. See if your skill and gear put together as a team can overcome the monstrous version of the raid boss that you beat before. However, there is also the timer strategy to take into account – Cachexia Timer Strat – which is important. This guide will show you the timer strat for the P6S raid.
Cachexia Timer Strat – FFXIV
The start of the Cachexia fight will give all of your teammates a debuff. You can find it with the purple box that looks like a silhouette. Communicate with your team to find out what timer you are on, and what debuffs you have. If you have the debuff that looks like a wing, go the snake side. If you have the debuff that looks like a snake, go to the wing side.
The setup should look like the image above, with all players with the snake debuff on the wing side, and all players with wing debuff on the snake side. You should also follow the setup for the exploding purple debuff. For 20’s, stay in front of the boss. 8’s go to the side, 12’s alongside them, and 16’s behind the boss.
Now Cachexia will target the closest players near it. So you have to let the 20’s go first, as they will have the longest time to act as the aggros. Once all of the debuffs for everyone else goes off, that’s when the 20’s get hit with the snake and wing AoE attacks. This is the perfect time for the 20’s to take a step back and let the 8’s take their turn. Wait for the AoE attack, then switch to 12’s, then do it again and switch to 16’s.
After all of you have been hit with the AoE attack, you should have the opposite debuff of what you originally had. Wing players should have the snake debuff, and snake players should have the wing debuff at this point. When that happens, Cachexia will cast Ptera Ixou. You will all need to move to the opposite side of where you are. Meaning wing debuffs move to the snake side, and snake debuffs move to the wing side.
Once the Ptera Ixou is done, you should be alive if you went to the side opposite your debuff, which should be gone after Ptera Ixou is done.
