Nightingale has a pretty complicated crafting and progression system that is tied into its procedurally generated realms system. As you work your way towards the mid game, you will be introduced to different tiers of workbenches and materials. In this guide, we’ll show you how to get mechanical gears!

How to Get Mechanical Gears

As you progress further into the game, you will find yourself creating portals into Provisioner realms. If you haven’t gotten to that point yet, check out our guide on how to build your first realm portal.

Once you make it to any Provisioner realm, seek out the essence trader and buy the refined crafting stations. Most importantly, you will need the brazier under the “Crafting: Refinement” category.

This trader’s offerings will mostly cost Tier 1 essence, which you should have a lot of by this point in the game. It’s worth noting that you can also spend tier 1 essence to straight up buy mechanical gears from the trader as well.
