Players have been playing the demo and actively experimenting and checking out new content daily about the upcoming and exciting Monster Hunter Sunbreak. In this guide, we will discuss the new Sturdy Spirit Slash and how effective it will be when it does come out. Let’s get started.
Sturdy Spirit Slash Guide – Monster Hunter Sunbreak
If you aren’t aware, the Sturdy Spirit Slash is actually the new unofficial name, as well as a new skill, for the switch skill with the Longsword. This hasn’t actually been still officially announced by the developers in any of the weapon trailers or in the demo itself.
The info that we have gathered already for this new skill is all from the 3rd party software that players have been able to unlock and see this skill for themselves. It is arguable that lots of things will change in the near future as well as getting it a brand new look and feel.
It is a new skill that replaces the RT + Y moves. This means that it is a skill bind attack that you will have to choose between this one and the Soaring Kick and Sakura Clash. The animation is still the same as before(looking like the final attack of the Spirit Reckoning Combo) but it will get changed and worked upon.
How to Use the Sturdy Spirit Slash in Monster Hunter Sunbreak
The Sturdy Spirit Slash has a cooldown of about 5 seconds with Wirebug Whispered Level 3. The base cooldown without anything affecting it will be from 6-7 seconds making us more than excited to use it in the future.
Important to know, that this move cannot be directly followed up in a Sheath Stance, but all the other moves work so you can still foresight into sheath and etc.
In Sunbreak, from what we know so far, both the Lai Spirit Slash and the Spirit Helm Breaker will be nerfed. They will be nerfed for about 50% damage from what they used to deal, with because of the release of the new Harvest Moon switch skill.
This opens up a whole new road for players to be able to experiment and implement the Sturdy Spirit Slash into their playstyle. It is more than exciting! We are thinking that this new skill might just become the new meta in the future!
Basically, this skill is usable on its own even without a combo and without needing some special setup before. It’s really that good. You can also parry Ranged attacks and gain a spirit level from a distance, without even actually hitting the monster. This makes it so that you’re still in the fight even when not directly engaging the monster that you’re dealing with.
It works very well with Harvest Moon and it can deal a ton of very high mounting damage.
A special thank you and huge credit goes to Kazu from YouTube. He went into detail and explained everything that we need to know about this new skill. You can check his channel here.
