Congratulations for coming this far into the game! Nightmarshal Styx might be the mini-boss that will finally be a worthy foe. He is the great vampire himself that you will need to take down in order to unlock the Bat shapeshifting ability. Let’s see how to find him and the best strategies for taking him down.

V Rising – Nightmarshal Styx The Sunderer Location

First of all, like every other mini-boss that you can beat in V Rising, you shall need to construct a Blood Altar. For unlocking it, just keep on playing through the story and you will be able to craft it in no time. This is a pretty late-game boss so you should be already having this a long time ago.

Interact with it and on the left, you will see Nightmarshal Styx The Sunderer. He is a level 76 mini-boss which means you should be locked and loaded. Make sure to take enough health potions with you as well as some resistance ones too. I mean just read that description! He will be a very tough enemy to beat but his reward is something that you will need(Bat Form).

Press the Track Blood button and you can start sensing his blood as to where he can be found. You will see on the left corner Tracking the blood of Nightmarshal Styx the Sunderer(I can sense my prey in the distance) and you know you are on the right track.

His location is very difficult to point out in only one place on the map. He is a real vampire which means that he travels from one place to the next in a blink of an eye. Just roam around the Cursed Forest and hope that you will find him patrolling around the roadways. Try your luck at the Ancient Village from time to time.

He is walking very slowly while patrolling. Make sure that you get the surprise on him and not the other way around. You can do a big outburst of damage at first. He is a very scary monster and an extremely tough one too.

Be wary of his Bat Ball attacks that come from the sides. These might catch you off guard if you are not prepared. They can even come from rocks or unpassable trees. This is actually your biggest enemy in my opinion.

He has a very wide AoE attack when he starts spinning and throwing the rolling knives/blades all around him. Make sure to keep your distance and engage him from afar because a couple of these might damage you.

He has extremely fast melee attacks once he engages you in melee combat. Dive or dodge around or through him and keep hitting him with your ranged attacks to be safe. To get closer to you, he has even ability to teleport behind you and strike you with his blade. Keep moving and dodging.

Have your sound on for this move. You will hear: This is your end! When this happens, he will disappear for a second, only to spawn a couple of other smaller vampires around you. Defeat them all and he will come back.

Once you take him down, go next to him, hold F and start extracting his blood. This way you can take him down completely and get the Bat Form skill available for use. Good luck!
