Sonic Origins is expected to be released for the Nintendo Switch on June 23rd, 2022. This collection, a remastering of some of Sonic’s early adventures, will include a variety of entirely new modes, including one called Story mode. How does it work?

How Does The Story Mode Work? – Sonic Origins

While you could play each game separately, like before, now this new story mode actually ties them all together and for the better. You can now play them one by one and experience them as one whole story that develops around your favorite characters.

The beauty of it is how they added new animated cutscenes around boss battles, starting or finishing one of the 4 games, etc.

These will you make even more interested as you can actually see how do Tails and Sonic get met, how they will know about the Mysterious Island and actually travel there, how the conclusion of Sonic and Knuckles tie into Sonic CD, etc.

This new story mode is something that we hope will provide the answers to all of these questions and in reality, it is a more than welcome addition to the whole package.
