Sonic The Hedgehog 2: How to Unlock Super Sonic & All Chaos Emeralds

There are two ways to transform into Sonic’s super Saiyan mode in Sonic The Hedgehog 2, the hard way or the easy way. This transformation basically makes Sonic go faster, and stronger.

So, here’s a way to unlock Super Sonic in Sonic The Hedgehog 2 of Sonic Origins.

How to Unlock Super Sonic & Get All Chaos Emeralds In Sonic The Hedgehog 2 – Sonic Origins

To unlock Super Sonic in Sonic The Hedgehog 2, there are two ways you can obtain it. Using the manual method and the hassle-free Level Select Menu method.

Manual Method

As you start the game, collect 50 Rings and all the seven Emeralds.
You can gather rings and Emeralds at the checkpoints. Upon hitting each checkpoint, you will pass through a pipe filled with them.
There are three checkpoints and you need to make sure to collect at least 50 rings.
Once you have the rings and Emeralds, press the Jump and press Triangle (Playstation)/ Y (XBOX)/ X (Nintendo Switch).
The normal Sonic music will change into the Super Sonic music as you transform.
Your collected rings will be consumed due to the transformation.
When all your rings are consumed, the transformation will wear off.
Don’t worry, you will get plenty of rings on hitting a checkpoint. Also, you get a Chaos Emerald for collecting the 50 Rings.

Level Select Menu

You first need to unlock the Level Select Menu which contains the Sound Test and get all Chaos Emeralds.

Here’s a detailed guide on how to get them:

In the menu/title screen enter: Up 3x, Down 3x, Left, Right, Left, Right (a jingle will appear if put correctly).
Press Start to enter the Level Select Menu.
There, play sounds 04, 01, 02, 06.
To activate the Super Sonic form, collect 50 rings, jump in the air and press Triangle (Playstation)/ Y (XBOX)/ X (Nintendo Switch).

Congratulations, you just unlocked Super Sonic in Sonic The Hedgehog 2. Don’t go too fast or you’ll blow (or not ‘cause you are super!)
