The new V Rising: Secrets of Gloomrot update has arrived with new weapons and skills. This means we’re getting even more options to build our characters, whether that’s for PvP or PvE purposes. Of course, you can always play in any style you want, but knowing the meta and incorporating them to your playstyle will make your life so much easier.

PvP in V Rising is a popular content that players can never get enough of because of just the sheer possibilities that make every fight intense and interesting. Here are some of the best PvP builds that are best for you who feel stumped on where to even start.

BEST PvP Builds (Solo)

Chaos Volley, Illusion Dash, and Phantom Aegis Build

This build focuses on stacking your Phantasms and using Scholar Blood to maximize your cooldown resets. And with enough luck, you will be spamming Chaos Volley nonstop while using Illusion Dash and Phantom Aegis to maximize your Phantasm stack.

If you haven’t kept up with the patch notes, the Phantasm buff is part of the Illusion branch. It can be stacked by casting Illusion spells and then gives you a cooldown-free cast before resetting the stack again.

The most suitable ultimate will be Raging Tempest & Merciless Charge with the jewel that allow your Phantom Aegis to deal more damage to shielded target while creating one for you. Another great jewel to add to this build is the Chaos Jewel that adds damage to the second hit of Chaos Volley to make your dps output more consistent.

Freeze Style Build

The second comp is the freeze style which has become even easier to achieve with jewels and the new update buffs it. The build used to depend on having full investment in Frost, but now, with the gem that freezes your opponent when casting a barrier, that isn’t necessary anymore.

The style is a combination of using Frost Dash and Barrier to create the longest freeze duration on your enemy. There’s a change to the Crystal Lance skill which now freezes an enemy regardless of if they’re chilled or not, so Ice Nova isn’t necessary for the freeze meta build anymore. If aiming down the Crystal Lance hard, you can get a Mosquito to help you proc the fear effect, which will help with lining up your lance.

And again, the Raging Tempest & Merciless Charge remain as the best ultimates to pair up, although Arctic Leap works as well.

Lightning Curtain – Mix with either Build

And finally, the newly added spell, the Lightning Curtain. It works in all kinds of ways. Moreover, it serves as a barrier that slows and possibly stun enemies that walk through or give you barrier if you walk through it. Besides that, it also blocks projectiles, but not yours. Which makes this so dominating in the PvP field because of how versatile the skill is.

You can combine this with the previous two builds depending on your playstyle. It’s a “shield” that allows you to play hyperaggressive because you get a barrier when you walk through. The Chaos Volley skill can be shot safely through the curtain. Or use Discharge with a jewel that allows you to dash twice to counter your opponent’s dash.

The Lightning Curtain is such a strong skill that it’s useful in so many situations, not just in solo PvP and can be incorporated in most playstyle. Although, it’s a rather late game skill to get.

BEST PvP Builds (Group)

When it comes to a group PvP war, the first important thing is the DPS. Here are the skills you should consider:

The Chaos Volley’s raw DPS tops other skills, so there has to be dedicated members whose job is just spamming this nonstop.

To protect yourself and others, the barriers are still useful. And don’t forget to use recast that will make your barriers last longer. Gems that inflict stun or freeze when an opponent hits you disrupt their push, adding to the debuffs on top of that Obviously, the Lightning Curtain falls on the top of the list to be a skill to have.

The Polarity Shift is a surprisingly crazy skill to have. You can “kidnap” an enemy member and put them in the middle of your team or save a friend who’s about to die. Successfully executing it is challenging, and there is a possibility of placing yourself in a disadvantageous position when you miss. But once you have a member who knows how to nail it, you basically have a playstyle that’s hard to counter.

The Sanguine Coil with the right gem, lets you bounce your heal that keeps the group healthy. But without the gem, you can’t make it consistent, making the Blood Fountain a better alternative.

The Void is a crowd control skill that allows you to break the enemy’s line, especially the curtain and barrier users. Your main DPS users can aim easier with the Void and opponents can only use their Dash for a speedy exit from the skill. Similarly, the Ice Nova is a great AOE that helps your team members that run the Freeze comp.

With 2v2 and 3v3, you want to make sure that each member has their own barrier or curtain skills to protect themselves and get away from being combo’ed. For example, Chaos Volley with Chaos Barrier with Void and Lightning Curtain. Having the right gems is also an important aspect to consider.

Or if you’re a freeze comp, the Frost Barrier and Dash combo can be matched with the Ice Nova and Lightning Curtain.

BEST PvP Builds (Raid)

Defenders have to focus a lot of summoning and jewels with AOE skills that has DoT. The Unholy Magic Mosquito or Unholy Knights are useful summoning skills that will buy you time to heal up before hopping back to the war. The Polarity Shift is great to swap positions with the enemy as you would in a group PvP, or to kidnap an opponent before the siege timer begins.

The Lightning Curtain is again, easily making it to the top of the list as a skill to have. It’s so easy to incorporate in any kind of meta and playstyle. For attackers, it keeps out projectiles from attacking your golem and keeping the group protected. Defenders can counter the raiders so they can focus on the golem easier.

The Phantom Aegis is also another useful skill to have to defend yourself or your friends and inflict Weaken on your opponents as you bulldoze your way in as the attacker.

Depending on how your team works, some may have to swap in and out the right equipment and spells. Others have to focus on their job in keeping the numbers of summons up to stir chaos as they defend the castle.

Remember: Skill and coordination above builds!

Skill combination matters a lot in a solo PvP, but when it comes to group battles, like a 3v3 or 4v4, coordination is essential. There isn’t a single solid meta playstyle that’s able to carry a group fight without proper coordination and teamwork!
