Secrets of Gloomrot is one of the first major updates in V Rising. This major update provides you with new contents, which means there is more for you to explore! With new reworked locations, new enemies, new interactions and bosses to battle, weapons can be the essential gear pieces that you need.
The Dual Pistols is an addition from the Secrets of Gloomrot major update. This weapon can give you that gunslinger vibe by being able to shoot your foes from a distance. With multiple bullets coming at them, those monsters will stand no chance!
How to Get Dual Pistols in V Rising
In order to obtain the Dual Pistols in V Rising, you will need to find and defeat Jade the Vampire Hunter (A level 57 V Blood Carrier). On defeating this specific enemy, you will be able to obtain and unlock a crafting recipe for the Dual Pistol. At the Anvil or the Smithy, you will be able to craft the weapon for some Iron/Silver Ingots or Reinforced/Wooden planks.
How to Defeat Jade – The Vampire Hunter
Jade the Vampire Hunter is a Level 57 V Blood Carrier. She can be found wandering around the Dunley Farmlands. Open up your V Blood Menu and select Jade – The Vampire Hunter and choose ‘Track Blood’ to start finding the Blood Carrier.
Remember to reach a certain level before you hunt down this boss. If your level is a little bit lower than the recommended level, it can be a tough fight. Now here are some tips to help you defeat her easier.
- If you hear her say ‘one shot, one kill’, it is when you use your travel skills and dodge. It is always important to maintain a certain distance as you fight.
- She has multiple damage over-time effect bullet shots, so always try your best to avoid getting hit by those. If you decide to fight her with little gear or as a low level, this becomes more important
- She also performs other rapid fire shots which you need to deal with. You can do it by simply dodging or using your defense/barrier abilities.
Once you defeat her, you can extract V Blood from the boss. This will allow you to unlock the Dual Pistol recipe in V Rising.
After that, you can just travel to the Smithy and craft the Iron Pistols for 15 Iron Ingot and 12 Planks. In order to find Iron Ingots, you will need to put your Iron Ores in the Furnaces. You can find Iron Ore scattered around Dunley Farmlands or the Haunted Iron Mine.
When it comes to Planks, those are easy to find. You can just put the wood you find from trees around most of the areas you travel to the Sawmill. With all the materials gathered, you can now craft your Dual Pistols!
What You Need to Know About the Dual Pistols
While the weapon makes you an amazing gunslinger on the battlefield, extra range means less risk, and less risk comes with less damage. But you do not have to worry about that, you can just play any weapon that you love to play.
The Dual Pistols has a range that is longer than any of the melee weapons, and shorter than long range weapons like a crossbow. As a result, you can make the conclusion that this weapon has a medium range, requiring you to always maintain the distance mid to close range.
Your normal attack allows you to fire a hail of bullets, dealing damage and knocking back enemies. These knockback effects require you to always maintain the distance to maximize your damage output.
The first ability is ‘Fan The Hammer’. In rapid succession, you will fire 10 bullets in a cone over 1.5 seconds. With each bullet dealing 25% physical damage and also knocking back enemies, the ability can be one of your main damage sources.
The next ability is ‘Explosive Bullets’. When activated, your character will perform a dodge roll followed by firing an explosive bullet dealing 25% physical damage. This dodge can help you shorten, or lengthen the distances between you and your target, so use it wisely.
On contact with the enemy, the bullet will explode after 3 seconds, dealing 125% physical damage in an area and also knocking them back. Not only dodging, you also want to land this shot so you won’t miss out on the high damage from it.
That is all you need to know to obtain the Dual Pistols in V Rising. The major update includes the amazing weapon, turning you into a gunslinger. With all the information, we hope you will have a grasp of the weapon playstyle, how you can maximize your damage output and become the best gunner out there!
