Nightingale is an open world survival game with a ton of procedural generation and RPG elements that involve upgrading your items to increase your gear score. In this guide, we’ll be teaching you one way to craft the best gear in order to progress through the game faster!
How to Make the Best Equipment
There are various factors that come into play when it comes to creating the best equipment in Nightingale. Most of it boils down to how far you have progressed into the equipment tiers.
For starters, you will be creating “simple” items made with base materials. The way this starts to get slightly more complex is the fact that these base materials can come in different forms.
For example, ore can come in various forms such as Pursuit or Shimmering. These provide unique multipliers such as increased elemental damage or bonus critical damage and durability.
Players who want to min/max will have a field day with the crafting feature, as there are a ton of possibilities when it comes to mixing and matching armor and weapon bonuses.

Raising an Item’s Tier or Rarity
Eventually, you will move away from common gear and upgrade to the next rarity using an upgrade bench. For this, you will need to collect the appropriate type of essence for your upgrade.
As an example, the next step above common is the green uncommon rarity, which will require tier 1 essence. We have a guide on how to get tier 1 essence in Nightingale that you should check out for more information about this aspect of the game!
Basically, you will be collecting different levels of essence depending on the realms that you can access at your current gear score. This will allow you to upgrade your stuff to their maximum potential.
Applying Enchantments and Infusions
Later on, you will be able to craft and find infusions and enchantments to further customize and improve your weapons and armor.
These have wildly varying effects ranging from giving you the ability to do area of effect attacks or increase your stamina regeneration.
If you have an enchantment or infusion, simply open your inventory and right click on it and select “Apply” to slot it into any applicable piece of equipment.
