V Rising: Secrets of Gloomrot expansion update is bringing entirely new areas that players can explore in Vandoran. Aside from the Gloomrot area, players can now find new books to research and learn new recipes. It goes without saying knowing the right way to get your books fast is essential to progressing further.
For the past few years, we’ve had to grind on papers to unlock recipes on the research table. With the first major update, Secrets of Gloomrot, we’ve got new ways to get our recipes and that is via books sold by the vendors.
How to Get Books Fast
If you’ve been in the game since its first Early Access release, you’ve probably been grinding hard for research papers and books through killing bosses and fishing. With the new Gloomrot area update, new Shady Merchants have been added to the game. But now, the fastest way to grind for books are through the book vendors.
You can find these books vendors at:
- Shady Merchants at Farbane Woods, one on the west and the other on the eastern side;
- Rural Book Merchant at Dunley Farms Market;
- Book vendor at Brighthave Trade District.
#1 Merchant
There are now Shady Merchants that sell books and the first one I’d like you to have your attention on is the one in Farbane Woods. You can see their exact location below and you’ll be able to see several vendors selling a wide variety of goods from crude gems, fishes, cosmetic items, and potions.
For books, you can check out the catalogue at the Shady Book Dealer. Do note that the list isn’t the same with everyone because it refreshes all the time. So you can always check back what they need. These vendors trade in copper coins and don’t require you to be in your human form to conduct a transaction with them.
#2 Merchant
Another Shady Merchants Camp spot is also shown below, on the eastern side of Farbane Woods.
As Farbane Woods is an early area in game, they sell great recipes that’ll really improve your grinding time. Also, yes, you can kill these vendors, but they don’t drop anything major aside from some loot.
#3 Merchant
Another book merchant is in the Dunley Farms Market. Similarly to the book dealer from the Farbane Woods, there’ll be a Rural Book Merchant who trades in silver. It has a collection of Iron Merciless equipment as well as many useful goods. But do remember that you need to trade while in human form here.
#4 Merchant
The final vendor is in Brighthave Trade District but do remember to trade in human form. Things are also pretty pricey as they require Goldsun coins to trade with the vendors here. On top of that, the catalogue refreshes periodically and since the vendors are server-wide, it means that players can all buy from the same vendor.
It’s possible for the vendor to run out of items to sell, theoretically, if a player decides to clear out the shop.
