The Gloomrot content update in V Rising has brought new content and modified existing mechanics and bosses. Solarus the Immaculate is one of these bosses that has been modified, so he is no longer a Shardbearer. This guide will focus on how to beat him.
Solaris the Immaculate Guide
This guide will be divided into three parts. The first part will focus on the boss’s location, the second on the recommended spells, and the third on how to defeat Solarus.
Location
Solarus the Immaculate is a level 80 boss found in the Fortress of Light, located in the Silverlight Hills. Since the Fortress of Light is a holy place, players will be subjected to Holy Radiation Damage once in the vicinity. Hence, crafting a few Holy Resistance Potions before taking on the boss is recommended.
Recommended Spells
For this fight, we recommended having a dash spell such as Veil of Chaos since some attacks must be dodged. Additionally, melee combat is not recommended since Solarus can counter with his sword dealing massive damage. Hence, engaging in long-distance combat with spells such as Chaos Volley is recommended. It is also essential to have a shield in case the dash is unavailable, so go along with Chaos Barrier.
Defeating Solarus the Immaculate
Since spells have a cooldown time before they can be used again, we recommend that players use a Crossbow to keep their distance from Solarus. Most of Solarus’s attacks have these light pillars that go around in different configurations. They do not deal much damage and can be avoided easily by strafing.
However, a version of the light pillar he conjures goes in a crisscross fashion and is difficult to avoid due to the narrow gaps. Hence, it is recommended to use your shield here to avoid taking unnecessary damage.
Once Solarus is brought down to half health, he will summon a Divine Angel of level 80. It is important to focus on Solarus since if you bring the Angel to low enough health, it will automatically heal itself. Hence, it is important to focus your attacks on Solarus.
Another typical attack that Solarus uses is that he dashes toward the player, and while dashing, the light pillars are released in a cone formation. This attack can be avoided easily by strafing in one direction and then back in the other direction, but it requires practice. You can use your dash but might get hit by one of the pillars once the invincibility period ends.
When Solarus is brought down to zero health, he goes into this sentry mode where attacks do not affect him. Now is the time to focus on the angel. If you are running low on health, a good tip to remember is that all bosses drop three blood orbs at half health. However, in this fight, the Angel also drops these orbs at low health, which can be used to your advantage.
Once Angel’s health bar is depleted, it turns into a Fallen Angel, and Solarus enters the final phase of the fight. His attacks are more or less the same except for one new attack. Solarus jumps into the air, and on the ground, an area flashes, indicating the point of impact. It is crucial saving your dash for this situation since this attack can hurt.
Solarus tends to use melee in this phase as well. His attacks are a three-hit combo where he sends out three projectile blades on the last attack. The way to avoid this is to move towards him when he shoots the projectiles and away from him when the projectiles come back.
Finally, once his health drops to zero, go ahead and extract the V Blood from Solarus to complete the fight.
Solarus the Immaculate has been nerfed quite heavily in the Gloomrot update making this fight much easier than it used to be. Just remember to dodge and use your shield for unavoidable attacks. Let us know in the comments below if you have any questions or suggestions.
