Everspace 2: Ultimate Crafting Guide

Create the best stuff for your ship!

Crafting in video games can be boring for some people and I can understand. Almost every game these days has crafting for some reason. Still, some games handle it well with little grind and is actually useful to do in the game. For those games crafting is essential and isn’t just crafting 200 iron daggers to get a number up.

In Everspace 2 you’d be surprised that this space sim game has crafting. It’s not just crafting items though since you can also change and even upgrade existing items. In this guide we’ll show you how crafting works in the game and how it’s actually useful!

Ultimate Crafting Guide For Everspace 2

Before you even start crafting you should know how to get the materials first. To get materials in the game the main way of doing so is through disassembly. Don’t sell those useless weapons and items that you got! Instead disassemble them, which you can do once you get a Cargo Unit.

You can also gather materials from nodes around space, just use your weapons and shoot at them. Later through the story you can get some quality-of-life perks to make hunting for resources easier.

To craft an item, you’ll first need a blueprint. Right now, blueprints can only be up to the Superior quality level, you can’t craft Legendaries. You can get these blueprints by dismantling 3 weapons of the same kind like 3 autocannons, but only with the same rarity. Each weapon and equipment have variants, which is chosen in random when you craft. You can also get blueprints through high-risk areas.

So, what else can you do with crafting? You can craft items in the game, but you can also modify existing items. Note that you can’t modify crafted items sadly. When modifying an item, you can increase the rarity by one, although you can’t increase the rarity of Superior and Legendary items. You can increase its level making them stronger. If you want, you can also remove the level restriction which lets you use stronger equipment earlier!

Catalysts are large bonuses you can install on items. These Catalysts also has different rarity like all items and can be a game changer for your weapons or modules. Once you apply a Catalyst you can’t remove it from the item so make sure to pick the right one! Remember that Legendary items can’t have Catalysts and can’t be modified.

Congratulations you now know how crafting works in Everspace 2. Now go out there, get some materials and start crafting!
