As much as it’s fun to hit things with a big stick in video games and see the big damage numbers go up it’s usually not as simple as that. Some games have certain mechanics, so you don’t just rely on one weapon the entire time. For some games they like players to switch up to different weapons of different types to make things interesting.
In Everspace 2 you have your two primary weapons, usually one that deals energy and one that deals kinetic damage. What does that even mean though in the context of the game? In this guide we’ll show you how primary weapons work!
Ultimate Primary Weapons Guide For Everspace 2
There’s a lot of different weapons that you can get in Everspace 2 and some of them can be quite flashy! You still need to learn what they do though since some weapons are better suited to deal with certain things. You can easily just use your lasers on everything at the early levels of the game but later on it won’t be viable. Here’s how weapons work in Everspace 2!
When you get a weapon you’ll first need to know what it does. For the example above, the Autocannon deals more Kinetic than Energy Damage. That means once the shields are down on an enemy you should use this weapon to destroy its armor.
Of course, you won’t use the Autocannon to take down shields, it will work eventually but it’s faster to use a weapon that has higher energy damage. Usually, those weapons are lasers or railguns, so keep both types of weapons on your ship.
In Everspace 2 it’s common to switch from different weapons to deal with an enemy’s shields and armor. Some enemies though don’t have shields nor armor like drones, so with those you can just use any weapon.
Congratulations you now know how to primary weapons work in Everspace 2. Good luck out there and try to get one of the cooler weapons in the game!
