How to Farm All Resources in V Rising Gloomrot Update

The introduction of the Gloomrot update in V Rising has brought not only new resources but has also modified resource farming locations. With this in mind, this guide will focus on how to find each resource available in the game.

Farming All Resources

For your convenience, each resource has been separated into its sections with the possible procurement points stated.

Copper

Copper is an important early game resource found in the Bandit Copper Mine. Make sure to consume high-quality worker blood to maximize resource yields. Remember also not to miss any chests since these contain additional loot.

Sulphur

Sulphur is obtained from the Bandit Sulphur Quarry.

It is important to note that in this area, many of the resource nodes are surrounded by explosives that can be hit to break the nodes in one hit, reducing farming time significantly.

An alternative location of copper and sulphur mining is the Trancendum Mine, where both resources are abundant. However, the enemies in the mine are formidable, so it is important to be well-prepared.

Whetstone

Whetstone is a very important component used in the crafting of Scourgestones that are used extensively throughout the game. Whetstones can be found in Bandit Encampments, but the best location for their farming would be the Bandit Armory.

In the Armory, Whetstones are almost always found in chests and occasionally drop from enemies and barrels. In addition to Whetstone, this is a good farming spot for Stone Dust. Check out this guide for more Whetstone farming locations and how to craft them.

Iron

Iron can be mined extensively in the Haunted Iron Mine and the newly added Iron Cave. 

To farm at the Iron Cave, you will require explosives or the Bear Form since boulders block the entrance. The latter is preferred since the Iron Cave contains Golems, which will not attack you if in the Bear Form. If you require more Iron, then defeat the Golems since they drop Iron as well.

Quartz

An ideal location for Quartz farming is the Quartz Quarry. This area contains numerous resource nodes and workers that can be captured for worker blood. Additionally, check the houses in the vicinity for other loot.

Scourgestone

Scourgestone can be found in the Dunley Monastery, Church of the Damned, and the house in the Cured and Ancient Village. In the Dunley Monastery, Scourgestone can be found easily in containers but this place inflicts Holy Radiation Damage on the player. Therefore, it is important to make Holy Resistance Potions to prevent excessive damage.

The Church of the Damned is relatively easier since you do not have to worry about Holy Radiation and need to search only the Chests and Graves.

Silver

There are two methods to obtain Silver. The first is to head to the region West of the Sacred Silver Mine since there are Silver resource nodes present there.

The second method is to use the secret entrance in order to gain access to the Sacred Silver Mine. Refer to the image below to know what path to take in order to get into the mine.

Leather, Rugged Hide

Leather and Rugged Hide can be obtained from the Bandit Trapper Camp, which is conveniently located next to a Vampire Waygate.

The advantage of this location is that it houses bears and wolves in cages allowing for farming all of them in one location. Bears and Wolves drop rugged hide, while leather can be found in the barrels and chests in the vicinity.

Thick Hide

Thick Hides can be obtained from dogs and other creatures across the map except for Farbane Woods. For instance, bears, moose, and wolfs in the Hallowed Mountains region drop them.

Pristine Hide

Pristine Hide can be farmed from creatures located in the Lurker Dwelling.

Additionally, it can also be farmed at the Gracefall Village at night. Visit it during the night since the villagers transform into Werewolfs that drop Pristine Hide. Make sure that you farm before the sun rises since the moment that happens, the villagers will revert back to human form. This will result in human-related loot being dropped by the villagers.

Fish Oil and Bones

Fish Oil and Bones can be acquired from the Blood Press, where one fish can be converted to give the oil and the bones.

Additionally, Brighthaven Docks is also a good spot for farming Fish Oil, but it is important to be disguised in human form until you reach the docks. Once there, kill any nearby enemies and then destroy the crates around you to obtain a substantial amount of Fish Oil.

Silkworms

Silkworms can be farmed at the Spider Cave, which is located in the Cursed Forest. Inside the cave, both the Spiders and the Cocoons drop the Silkworms. Additionally, the Cocoons also contain random loot so make sure to break all of them.

Mutant Grease

The best spot for farming Mutant Grease is the Pools of Rebirth. This is because almost all the time, members of different factions will be fighting here so you can simply pick up the loot that they drop.

Furthermore, Trancendum Camps are also a good spot for farming Mutant Grease as well as Tech Scrap.

Tech Scrap and Depleted Batteries

For Tech Scrap the previously mentioned Tracendum Camps alongside the Rustlock Village. Each house in the Village typically contains three containers: Mutant Grease, Tech Scrap, Coins, and Scrolls.

In the Trancendum Camps, Tech Scrap is easy to obtain by hitting these piles of junk lying around. However, it is important to be careful since some of these explode and deal hefty damage. The exploding ones can be identified by the sparks they emit before exploding.

Depleted Batteries are also obtainable at the Trancendum Camps and can be reacharged at Thunderstrike Peak.

Gold Jewellery

Gold Jewellery can be obtained from Brighthaven from either chest found in Human Form or from defeating enemies. However, since Silverlight Hills is one of the end game zones, these enemies will be tough so come prepared.

Similar to the Dunley Monastery the Brighthaven Catherdral also inflicts Holy Radiation Damage so make sure that you are equipped with Holy Resistance Potions.

Bones, Mourning Lily and Gravedust

These three resources are abundant in the Forgotten Cemetery and the Infested Graveyard. 

It is important to thoroughly search all the Graves and Containers since these contain the aforementioned resources as well as additional loot. An added bonus is that some graves may reveal Rats which can be used to feed your prisoners to restore their health.

Regular Gems

Regular Gems can be found in the Bedrock Pass, where you will have to break resource nodes to obtain them.

Flawless Gems

For Flawless Gems make sure to visit the Harpy Nest in the Silverlight Hills. These are important components of Tier 3 Jewels which provide the most powerful buffs for your spells.

However, be prepared since the Harpies here are tough to deal with and are very aggressive.

Ghost Crystal and Spectral Dust

Ghost Crystal and Spectral Dust are both abundant resources found at the Cursed Village and the Ancient Village. Both of these villages are located in the Cursed Forest.

Other than the resource nodes in these locations, the drops can also be farmed from the mobs found in the area, such as Banshees.

Blood Rose, Snow Flower, and Fire Blossom

These three flowers can be found at the Gleaming Meadows which is by far the best farming location for them.

These are important to farm due to their extensive use in potions which can change the tide of a battle.

Hell’s Clarion

Hell’s Clarion is an important component used in making potions are repairing items. It is found in multiple locations such as the Bear Cave and the aforementioned Haunted Iron Mine, and the Bandit Copper Mine.

Cotton, Wool, Cloth, and Sunflowers

In order to farm all these resources, start from the farms near the Vampire Waygate in Dunley Farmlands. Follow the path clockwise, visiting all the different farms until you reach Dawnbreak Village.

Houses inside the village have containers that have a variety of resources such as Fish Oil, Coins, Books, Scrolls, and much more. When harvesting crops, it is recommended to use Area of Effect attacks in order to farm a large number of crops in a short period of time.

A few of the farms have Garlic Exposure that weakens vampires. In order to counteract the effects you can use Bear Form, increase Garlic resistance, or craft Minor Garlic Resistance Brew.

Ghost Shroom

Ghost Shrooms are an important component used in the crafting of Ghost Yarn that is used for repairing high level gear. Ghost Shrooms can be found at Witch Huts.

Sacred Grapes

Sacred Grapes can be farmed from the Brighthaven Vineyards. They are either be obtained from breaking the plants or from the containers in the vicinity. These are important components in crafting Blood Merlots which are a great alternative to Blood Potions.

Paper and Schematics

Paper can be obtained easily by farming it in Bandit Camps.

Schematics, on the other hand can be obtained from Army Outsposts. 

High Quality Blood and Blood Merlots

High Quality Blood and Blood Merlots are important resources that help to make farming easier and also assist in fights. There are four different types of blood, with each blood granting different bonuses when consumed. Hence it is recommended to construct a blood farm to ensure a consistent supply of this resource.
