The highly-anticipated survival game Nightingale is coming out very soon, and with that, you’re going to want to learn how the game’s many mechanics work. In this guide, we’ll be teaching you how to create your very first realm portal!
How to Build Your First Realm Portal
Unlike most other open world survival games out in the market right now, Nightingale allows you to tailor your worlds with the use of Realm Cards.
We have a detailed guide about Realm Cards in Nightingale that you should definitely check out. Once you familiarize yourself with their functions, you can start working on your first portal!
Finding a Synchronous Lotus
As you progress through the fairly railroaded early game phase of Nightingale, you will eventually stumble into Aurelio Acevedo Ortega, who will have various quests for you.
At a certain point, you will be tasked with finding a Synchronous Lotus, which can be acquired from any Fae Tower in the map.
Since the game is procedurally generated, you will have to find this for yourself in your own unique map seed. For reference, check the image below to see what it looks like in the map.
Once you have the necessary level and gear to clear it, go ahead and finish the Fae Tower. This will show you all of the points of interest in the current realm.
There will also be a Realmic Transmuter at the top of the tower. You can use minor cards to modify certain aspects of the realm here, though this is not required for this guide.
Close to the Realmic Transmuter will be a chest that contains the Synchronous Lotus. After that, you will have to find your way back to Aurelio Acevedo Ortega to complete the quest.
Crafting the Realm Portal Itself
After doing all of that, you can now return to your base and craft a realm portal. At this point in the game, you can craft a Crude Portal if you have the following materials:
- 10x Lumber
- 7x any Ingot
- 3x Wire
- 1x Synchronous Lotus (the one you got from earlier)
Now that you have built your very first realm portal, you can slot it a Biome Card and a Major Card to dictate what type of realm it will lead to. Get used to this system, as it is a major component of Nightingale’s gameplay loop!
SIDE NOTE: We have a FAQ (Frequently-asked-Questions) article for Nightingale. Make sure to check it out for more information!
Once you start creating your very own hub of portals, you may want to start labeling them to make your life a little easier.
Place an angling basket or any small object that you can rename beside each portal and set their names to whatever Biome Card and Major Card you slotted in.
This will help you organize your portals and keep you from accidentally entering the wrong realm. It’s not really a requirement, but it will save you a lot of time later on.
And that is everything you need to know when it comes to creating your very first realm portal in Nightingale. Check out our beginner’s guide for Nightingale as well to better prepare yourself for its early access release!
