Mod your weapons to get the most out of them!

Gray Zone Warfare: Weapon Modding & Customization Guide

Gray Zone Warfare is a newly released open world MMO first person shooter that is built in Unreal Engine 5. You can find its Early Access version on Steam. If you like Military simulator types of games, then you will also like Gray Zone Warfare. The game also offers an extensive weapon customization and modding system. You can mod your weapon however you like with a plethora of different attachments available in the game. This guide will show how to use the modding system, so keep on reading!

Guide On Weapon Customization & Modding

If you are new to this game or this type of games then you will find the weapon modding system quite confusing. There is a lot of stuff and it can be pretty overwhelming for a new player.

I will show you the basics of how weapon attachments work and will also give you two starter builds which you can make yourself and start using instantly.

Attachments

You will find a lot of different attachments in the game and each attachment can be combined with specific weapons or other attachments.

To know which attachment is compatible with what part, hold the attachment and the parts that are compatible will turn orange in your inventory. This indicates that you can use this attachment with that weapon or attachment. Just drag and drop the attachment to the part that you want to combine it with.

To know which attachment is non-compatible, then simply hover that attachment over a weapon or another attachment and it will turn red. This means it can not be attached, look at the image below for an example.

Best Starter M4A1 Build

Now that you know how to attach compatible parts together, I will go over a M4A1 build which is much better than the default M4A1. You will need the base M4A1 and the following attachments for it:

  • Attachments that you need to buy from Gunny:
    • Moe MLOK ($205)
    • EXPS2 ($685)
    • DD MK12 LOW PROFILE GAS BLOCK ($81)
    • M-Lok 9 ($26)
  • Attachments that you need to buy from Artisan:
    • RK-5 ($47)

Combine all those attachments with the base M4A1 and your gun should look like the one shown in the image below.

Best Starter AKMN Build

Now that you are done with the M4A1, it is time to build an AKMN. First thing you need to do is get the AKMN ($121) barrel from Artisan. After that, you will also need to get the following attachments:

  • Rest of the attachments that you need to buy from Artisan:
    • AKM Gas ($8)
    • AK POLYMER HANDGUARD WITH PICATINNY RAIL ($69)
    • MOE AK PISTOL GRIP ($32)
    • MOE AK STOCK ($113)
    • RK-5 ($47)
    • AK 7.62 ($75)
    • KOBRA EXP-1S-03 RED DOT SIGHT ($548)
    • PBS-01 ($460)
    • AK Dust Cover ($123)

After you combine all those attachments together, your gun will look like the one shown below.

And that is it for this quick weapon modding guide, I hope you found it helpful! If you have played the game for a while, you will have probably noticed that some of the quests require you to search around quite a bit. To make those quests easier, I suggest you check this guide: Mithras All Tasks Guide & Location. It has information on all the Mithras tasks you can find in Gray Zone Warfare.
