Blunderbuss is the heavy-firing shotgun-looking rifle that you can use in New World. It has a lot of burst damage that when compared to other weapons, makes it look like an overpowered item. Here we will discuss the scaling with other equipment or stats on you. Let’s get started.
Blunderbuss Scaling Explained | How It Works – New World
This shows the Stenght vs. Intellect distribution and the total Damage you got from that.
- Gray Bar – DMG from test results
- Blue Bar – STR attributes
- Orange Bar – INT attributes
The Blunderbuss scales with Strenght 90% and Intelligence 65%
This one here is a visual representation of how much damage scales with just Strenght or just Intelligence. So, if you have 32 attribute points distributed, you’ll have 561 damage(the first one) and etc.
In terms of Perk Scaling, the Blunderbuss is only affected positively by 4 out of 10 Perks. It is only 1 from the Strenght tree and 3 from the Intelligence tree. Compared to other weapons, it is fairly weird that the Blunderbuss only benefits from 1 out of 5 of the primary attribute perk trees.
- +10% damage on stunned, slowed, or rooted enemies; +10% mining speed
- +10% critical hit damage; +5% chance for 1 azoth when harvesting
- +15% elemental damage; -10% decrease in weight of harvested items
- +10% damage on first hit on full health target; -10% reduction in Azoth travel cost
Let’s go over the Ability Scale. Strength and Intelect can impact drastically on how much your skills and abilities can do damage:
- Net Shot
- Hook Shot
- Blast Shot
- Azoth Shrapnel Blast
- Shrapnel Blast Perked
- Splitting Grenade
- Mortar Charge
As you can see everything can be changed to your liking. Even the slightest of change can make you overcome some difficult situations if you’re willing to invest yourself into learning on how to best use the Blunderbuss.
