In the July Patch that we got a little while ago, there was a Perfect Salvage System introduced to us. In this guide we will be talking about it and how to use it to perfection. It is not very difficult to understand so let’s begin.

Complete Perfect Salvage Guide, Fast Expertise, Level Crafting Cheaper, Cooldown Mats – New World

A huge part of playing this game is Salvaging. Whether you’re crafting, fishing, or doing chest runs, maybe running expeditions, literally anything your activity will end with a session of Salvaging. This has always felt like a chore before the patch mainly because it was simply unrewarding at all. People were sometimes dropping it all on the ground at times, rather than salvaging it.

Right now the new Perfect Salvage system is very rewarding. It is also something that you can do to progress with your character. When you salvage an item you have a chance to perform a Perfect Salvage. Perfect Salvages can reward you with the following:

  • Research materials – Such as weapon scraps that you can use to get trading skill experience.
  • Special Orbs – You can convert them into gypsum casts which bypass the normal daily limit for your gypsum income.
  • And a lot more!

There are also tiers of how good you can actually get with your Salvaging. As you can see in the picture above there are actually 5 tiers in tota. You can get just normal plan Scraps, then Useful ones, Valuable and all the way to Infused at the end.

When you Salvage an item you have a 5% chance to get a Perfect Salvage. Although it might be rare, it doesn’t mean you won’t see a lot of it. This is because you can do a lot of salvaging on a lot of useless materials you can find on your adventures. It is the same chance regardless of the gear type, level, or drop rarity. This is how it differs in quality:

  • 1% on white items
  • 2% on green items
  • 3% on blue items
  • 5% on purples

The Legendary items are the exception in this new salvaging system. These will always salvage into fragments and yield 50 Embral Shards. Fragments also have a slightly different use than scraps.

The second exception is the items you gain through Outpost Rush or Gypsum Casts. These do not any % on getting a perfect salvage.

The third exception is the named items that can drop on Expeditions from bosses that you might take. It is made this way on purpose so it doesn’t interfere with the material system implemented in the game. You will get Materia when salvaging these.

You can use the Scraps at the research stations for gaining Research. Now you have a way of converting your useless scraps into research. That is amazing!

The final and most important use of the Fragments is to create a special type of Gypsum Orbs. These are called Infused Orbs. These are also added alongside with the Perfect Salvage System. They will allow you to create 2 casts for each item that you’ll craft. You can even buy them on the market!

That should be it! We hope that this guide helped you clear out some stuff. A big thank you to 5 Head Survival Gaming from YouTube. He went way and beyond and explained everything in detail. Check out his channel here.
