MMORPGs in the past have always had a bunch of inputs you need to remember to play the game. We all know about the 1 to 10 hotbar where you place all of your skills as well as other buttons and even macros to do stuff in the game. Back then playing an MMO on a controller wasn’t even possible due to all of the keybinds. Recently though it has become possible with games like Guild Wars 2 where they have native controller support. New World still is trying to get this through but for those who want to use controllers now, here’s a guide!
Controller Guide Brimstone Update For New World
New World isn’t like old school MMOs where you have dozens of keybinds you need to worry about. Instead, you have a handful of skills and such to play the game and with that in mind it should translate well in controllers. There’s still no official controller layout for the game but some players have made it possible to play the game with it.
In his video on an updated control scheme for a controller, Ginger World Gaming has made a neat little steam controller config for you to use. This control scheme is intuitive since it uses simple combinations of button presses to do stuff in the game. It even caters for people who use ranged weapons. Congratulations you now know where to get an updated controller control scheme for New World, it might take some getting used to and it’s still a work in progress but you can do all of the stuff you can do on Mouse and Keyboard with it!
