Playing an MMORPG is time consuming. It will take up most of your playtime depending on how addicted you are to it. So playing two MMO’s at the same time just means that you don’t have anything to do in your life, so you just stay at home and play video games. So you have to make a difficult decision to drop one MMO in exchange for another. In this guide, we will show you how to make the move from Final Fantasy XIV to New World.
New World – How to Migrate to from Final Fantasy XIV
When first starting your new journey in a New World (pun intended), you will need to select which region you will be playing and what world. For region, always select the ones with the green bars. If you don’t select those, you will be put into a server where your connection might be dodgy and you might experience some lag issues.
Your world is another thing to consider, as on the right, you can see the population of that world. There is High, Medium, and Low. High means that there are a large number of players playing in that world, Medium means there are a moderate amount of players, and Low means that there are less players active there.
When you first start the game, you must know that the endgame of New World begins at level 1. Yes, you are in the endgame of New World the moment you spawn in. For Final Fantasy XIV players, you will still have the MSQ (Main Story Quests) when you start off in New World. It’s not specifically called MSQ, but it has story quests that can get you from level 1 to level 25.
Now a big thing that might break the deal for some Final Fantasy XIV players is character customization. The Glamour system is not in New World, not even a transmog system has been implemented yet. The only way you can get anything to customize your characters is by using the gear you have, or by purchasing cosmetics in the store.
There are plans however, to bring a transmog system to New World soon. But that’s it: soon. There’s no telling when they’ll have that system in the game. So you will have to deal with either having good gear with horrible cosmetics. Or you will have to cough up some cash to look cool.
Going to the core gameplay loop, it’s the same as Final Fantasy XIV. When you start the game, you will have your MSQ that will bring you from level 1 to level 25. While playing through the main story, you can always do side content and do other things that can benefit your character’s progression.
You are free to do whatever you like when you first start the game. The game will not prohibit you as long as the tutorial is over. Once the tutorial is complete, the open world is available to you. You can go around and do whatever you want. If you want to keep the main story quests as last, then you can do just that.
Huge thanks to Ginger Prime for the information for the Final Fantasy XIV players who are planning to move to New World. It might seem scary at first, but that is normal for starting new MMO’s.
