Will Wild Hearts Be Better Than Monster Hunter Series?

We all know the great success the Monster Hunter Franchise has had over the years. My very first Monster Hunter game was Monster Hunter Freed Unite in the PSP and I remember having a blast playing that with my friends. Something about hunting giant monsters, getting materials from them to make cool weapons and armors and using it to fight even bigger monsters appeal to me. I’m not alone since the newest addition to Monster Hunter Rise still has thousands of players that play it every day. Recently though the news of a new game in the genre has risen, and we’ll look at how it will fare.

Wild Hearts: Will It Be Better Than Monster Hunter Series?

Wild Hearts impressed a lot of people with their trailer that was released at the end of September and it showed a lot of promise. The game showed amazing graphics, mechanics akin to Monster Hunter but with added twists of their own new ones. Almost a week ago and they even released a 7-minute gameplay trailer, which is always a good sign, and it showed more of the combat of the game and the multiplayer aspects.

What’s new on the table?

The game features a lot of mechanics that differ a lot from the Monster Hutner games. The biggest one is the freedom of its Open World. Monster Hunter had a hub world, and you go to different maps when you start a hunt. In Wild Hearts the world is vast and you can stay around places indefinitely in contrast to the time limited missions in Monster Hunter.

There is also a heavy emphasis in crafting, where you can make crafting stations on the go like drying racks for meat or a blacksmithing area for making gear. Not only that but the game also seamlessly adds contraptions that you can summon in fights to help you, whether it damages the enemy directly, launches you for an aerial attack or even add elements to your weapons.

Speaking of Combat, in Wild Hearts you can do a lot of things besides making contraptions. You can climb on monsters and attack them or hold onto them. This will scratch that Shadow of Colossus or Dragon’s Dogma fans know. Not only that but you can even do cool finishers on monsters just so you can style on an enemy as your last hit.

Finally, one thing that everybody can agree on is a good thing, Wild Hearts is confirmed to have crossplay. That means whether you’re on console or PC you can still play with others in other platforms.

Wild Heart in the surface looks like a Monster Hunter Clone, but looking deeper it shows that it brings new and interesting mechanics to the genre. It’s a new game and a new competitor for Monster Hunter and that’s always a good thing, since competition breeds innovation and hopefully the game will do amazing for the sake of the players.
